Chico Emerico Bencivenga is a musician for life. As a songwriter, he’s not limited when it comes to style and diversity, and he writes music from the heart. As an educator for over 30 years, he prides himself on blending subject material with valuable life lessons that inspire budding musicians.

A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Chico was a natural singer at age three, began classical piano instruction at age five. He also studied percussion throughout his childhood and eventually learned to play bass guitar as an adult. As a teenager, he participated in school and church choirs and formed his own rock band. He spent his time rehearsing, writing, recording, and performing live shows in the tri-state area. He was also employed in the diocese of Pittsburgh as an organist and cantor.

As an adult learner, Chico returned to school and earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Duquesne University in 1991. Upon graduation, he began teaching elementary music at St. Rosalia’s parish in the Pittsburgh area. In 1994, a position with the Palm Beach County School Board afforded him the opportunity to relocate to West Palm Beach, Florida. He retired from public teaching as head of the piano department for the Bak Middle school of the Arts in Palm Beach County.

In 2009, Chico founded CiVega Production. His lifelong love of sound recording and composing was revived. His talent and skills led to producing and publishing his original music. With a talented team of studio musicians and artists, he recorded and released his first CD, “Abundance”. Since then, he has published and produced “Opulence” and the newest release ” Bliss”. His music is a compilation of many styles from Easy Listening, Jazz, New Age, and Pop Rock.

Chico is professionally affiliated with ASCAP, Taxi A&R, Music Xray, Pump Audio, CD baby, I Tunes and Disc Makers. He’s interested in producing, recording and publishing  New Indie Music and providing commissioned music in the music industry.

Chico resides in West Palm Beach, Florida with his wife Sharon, his childhood sweetheart. They are the proud parents of three and grandparents of eight. Their love is the inspiration for much of his music. Aside from musical interests, Chico enjoys philosophy, spiritual development, sports, of course the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates, good food and ballroom dancing.
